Common Safety Issues

1. Personal Information

To keep your personal information safe from hackers or anybody when surfing the web, using social media or using email for work, school or college. Never have your password linked in with your email address because it makes it easier for hackers to guess your password. When using any time of social media such as Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, always have your profile set so your personal information that you have put on your profile that only friends that you know can only see your profile and nobody else that is not on your friends list can see anything that is on your profile. Also always turn off your location data so when you post anything online it does not show up you location where you are at.

2. Viewing Digital Content
Some content online can be harmful which is not suitable for underage children, which they can accessed without parental control. There are lots of free digital content that are released on the internet such as YouTube and Hulu, but a lot of pirate websites which means you can stream any movie or TV show recent or old on your computer, but most of them contain viruses which can get into your computer system. There are ways to get around this by paying a subscription fee every month and being able to watch the latest movies and old, without getting any bad malware in your computer system, you can use Netflix and the Amazon's streaming service.

3. Uploading Digital Content
The issues with uploading digital content is the same when you upload a photo or video on social media once you upload it is out there forever which means you cannot delete it. The good thing if you upload videos on YouTube is that you can edit the parts you don't want anyone to see out and they will never know about it. They are also the issues with copyright in your videos if you put any music in your videos it can be took down because of the copyright laws.

4. Respect Towards Others
The issues with respecting others is that humans have the right to their own opinion against other people, so if your feeling like your being respectful to that person they might be a disrespectful person. Another issue with being respectful towards others is that if you have a friendly conversation and talk about something personal that has happened to them they are not going to be respectful back to you.

5. Data Protections Regulations
The Data Protection Act basically means you can not take somebody's work and use it as your own. You are sometimes allowed to take bits from other people's work but you are not allowed to directly take somebody's work because it is illegal which you will get fined or possibly jail.

6. Securing Data
When you are working from the internet you want to make sure that your work is safe so that nobody can take and destroy your work. Using software such as firewalls and creating automatic back ups, will save you stress and a lot of time. Usually when sending an email that you have important files attached and want to keep a secret you can encrypt your files/email.
